Pooteewheet and I went to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (liked it). And my Dad (Grandpa John) and I went to Bug (oh man, did I hate that. It rightly deserves a post explaining how much I hated it, but I refuse to give it that much time. Ugh. Almost The Cave ugh).
I spent a lot of time in the hammock reading. And we bought a new fire pit and toasted marshmallows and made smores before camping out in the back yard. To clarify, Grandpa John camped out until about midnight, and when I came back from Pirates I took over. My back yard is very uncomfortable without an air matress and I was extremely tired today after a fitful night of a few hours of sleep. I was pretty sure that would be the case, which is why we did it on a day I didn't have to go to work the next day. Eryn slept like a rock.
Here's a picture of Eryn cooking her marshmallow on a super long stick. We're a little overprotective sometimes. The new firepit is obvious in the foreground.
Grandpa John and I join in the mallowing. Grandpa John probably shouldn't be eating marshmallows, but he burns them so thoroughly that it's more like eating charcoal, and the doctor feeds you that to check out your system, so it must be good for you.
Eryn prefers her marshmallows untoasted.
Unrelated, but from this weekend. We're only overprotective to a point. If you want to fall off the plastic house and give yourself a good bonk on the head, we're willing to let that slide.
The video versions... In vidceo one, if Eryn did cook her marshmallows, I'd have gotten a good scorching.
In item two, Eryn tries a smore. What kid doesn't like a smore? Crazy.
We played games on Saturday eh. I think you may have experienced a lost time episode on Friday night - or maybe you got sucked into a game of Katamari Damacy to the point that you lost your temporal bearings.
ReplyDeleteYou also forgot to mention, for Sean's benefit, that the city was not only a closed loop, but that it was only 6 city tiles in size. 3-4 hours on a 6 tile city!!! Hahahahahahahahahaha!!! The madness of it all!!!
There ws the tasty chili though, which broke up the Stalingrad-like stalemate created by thwarting Dan's dreams of winning the game. That part, in addition to messing with Dan, was good....
I would have hated it!!!
