I was so excited when I found out this was a long weekend and I really hadn’t paid attention – but then I realized tomorrow is the first of the month which means the beginning of the month processes need to run before 8 a.m. and they always fail if it’s a holiday (files don’t reach our processes on time, they send us last month’s files, etc.), so I’ll be up checking my email early and presumably going in for a few hours when everything sends me a message saying there was nothing to work with. To top it off, I have four mid-year co-worker reviews to do (I usually average 45-60 minutes for each one) and a big write up for a management/mentoring program – at least on the later I’ve done some prep work so it’s just writing from an outline, not working from scratch.

You're just looking for pity, aren't you? Well, you get none from me. I'm envious. It's a perfect opportunity to cadge cool things from the supply cabinet. Did you know that a kid Eryn's age really can't tell the difference between markers and highlighters? It's true!
Eryn knows the difference - highlighters are things dad lets you play with because the caps are so hard to get off that he doesn't have to worry about you writing on walls.
By the way, I changed your friendly user name and password while I was at it, next time you have to log into any product as IAM/SNARKY.
Ah, good. That will be easy to remember.
